Rhiarna Hill

Rhiarna is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist who has worked in private practice since 2007. At Inner North Physiotherapy she works withpeople who have musculoskeletal conditions, particularly focussing on knee and other lower limb injuries. She is also a PINC certified physiotherapist- assisting women...

at varying stages of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Rhiarna consults as an in-house physiotherapist for one of Melbourne’s leading knee surgeons, where her role involves participating in shared treatment decision making, reviewing rehabilitation progress, and testing readiness to return to sport and activity. She is currently a team physiotherapist and national classifier with Wheelchair Basketball Australia and Para-badminton Australia. Previously she has worked within soccer (Victorian Premier League, W-League, and a short placement with New York City FC), gymnastics (including Australian nationals, World Cup and Commonwealth Games) and Ultimate Frisbee (World Games and World Championships). Rhiarna values ongoing education and enjoys teaching on lower limb courses for the Australian Physiotherapy Association, and as part of GP professional development programs. She is involved in knee oriented research projects at Swinburne University and The University of Melbourne. She also does some work at the Epworth hospital with acute inpatients following orthopaedic surgery. Rhiarna loves getting to know and work with a diverse range of people. She’s passionate about educating and empowering individuals, and helping them get back to the activities that are meaningful to them. She understands that prioritizing and understanding a person’s unique situation is just as important to their wellbeing as treating their particular injury. Outside of work, Rhiarna enjoys hiking, cycling, West African percussion, travelling to places off the beaten track, and spending time with her little family. Matt Savage

Matt is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist from the UK. He graduated from Cardiff University with first class honours in 2016 and has completed masters level education in research at London South Bank University. Matt is now working on his PhD at La Trobe University, where his research focuses on biomechanics, bracing and post-traumatic osteoarthritis.

Matt loves teaching and mentoring junior physiotherapists and has a wealth of experience across a diverse range of specialties in the UK including musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, rheumatology, pain management, major trauma, intensive care and neurosurgery. Matt has a keen clinical interest in the assessment and rehabilitation of knee and Achilles tendon pain and injuries. He has a strong belief that the person in pain knows best and working together is the key to success. Utilising his clinical experience and the highest level of evidence, Matt uses education, exercise and hands on therapies to provide the highest quality of care to his patients.

Matt is a firm believer in practicing as he preaches - outside of work you’ll often find him running, cycling, in the gym or playing soccer!

Elise Fraser

Elise is a highly experienced Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and Lecturer at The University of Melbourne.

Elise has a particular interest and extensive experience in the areas of pregnancy and postnatal care, urogynaecology and obstetric perineal trauma.

She has previously worked in hospital-based maternity, urogynaecology clinics and private sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy practices for more than 15 years, and has been involved in teaching and developing the educational curriculum for the Master of Physiotherapy (Pelvic Health), Graduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy) and Graduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Exercise and Women’s Health) and speciality content in the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at The University of Melbourne.

Roy Dookia

Roy is a highly experienced, New Zealand trained physiotherapist, who qualified in 2007. He has worked in private practice in New Zealand, London and Melbourne, honing his skills as an expert diagnostician in the assessment and treatment of complex presentations.

This has enabled Roy to help elite athletes, dancers and musicians and he was a physiotherapist in the Athlete’s Village at the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

Roy is skilled at treating complex spinal conditions that include neck pain and headaches, as well as low back, pelvis and hip pain. He has further training in the management of thoracic pain and dysfunction and is also adept at managing tendon pathologies and foot and ankle injuries. Roy is passionate about education and endeavors to uncover the underlying cause of a problem and explain it to the individual, to enable their empowerment and independence. This passion extends to professional education and his role as clinical mentor to his colleagues.

Claire McGillivray

Claire completed both her Doctor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. She has a comprehensive and professional understanding of musculoskeletal injuries and utilises manual
therapy techniques and tailored exercise prescription to help get her clients back doing the important things in life. Claire also has a keen interested in Women’s Health and has experience in the assessment and management of pregnancy-related musculoskeletal conditions such as pelvic girdle pain, back and neck pain. She is also passionate about enabling clients to remain fit and active during pregnancy and beyond. Claire has undertaken additional training in Clinical Pilates, equipping her with advanced skills which she utilises in clinical practice. Josh Neeft

Josh is a Physiotherapist with over 15 years experience in private practice. Josh graduated from the University of South Australia with a Master Of Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry) in 2005 after previously completing a Bachelor of Podiatry in 2001, and has recently completed a Master of Acupuncture at RMIT in 2022.
Josh’s practice has a focus on manual and exercise therapy incorporating holistic care. He places great emphasis on having his clients be an active participant in their therapy to optimise their treatment outcomes. Josh has undertaken further extensive training in the fields of Upledger CranioSacral Therapy and Barral Visceral and Neural Manipulation which look to address fascial and connective tissue restrictions throughout the body and the implications they may have on dysfunction of the musculo-skeletal, nervous, vascular, cardio-respiratory, digestive and endocrine systems. Aaron Willison

Aaron is a physiotherapist with a special interest in treating complex and chronic pain conditions such as chronic spinal pain, spinal related leg pain (sciatica), Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), and other long-standing conditions.
By leveraging the latest research, Aaron ensures evidence-based practices are utilised in the development of active treatment plans that are tailored to the individual and their unique needs, empowering patients to regain control and get them back to the meaningful things in life.

He completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy with Distinction through the University of Melbourne. Aaron holds additional training in the therapeutic use of pain education, Graded Motor Imagery and sensory discrimination techniques through the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (www.noigroup.com), and advanced spinal care practices through the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He also holds additional training in psychology, having completed his Honours in Psychology with Distinction as well as having published in scientific journals on psychological science.

Outside of work Aaron enjoys hiking, rock climbing and camping, often enjoying weekends away in the Grampians National Park.

Ellen Barnett

Ellen is a passionate physiotherapist with an interest in Women’s Health. She graduated from La Trobe University in 2011 and went on to complete post graduate training in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy (Melbourne University) in 2016. Ellen is experienced in management of complex pelvic floor conditions
including pelvic pain, incontinence, fitting of pessaries and pre and post-natal care. Ellen has a holistic approach to management of dysfunction, and has undertaken further training in ConnectTherapy with Canadian physiotherapist Dr LJ Lee. Ellen draws on this training in patient assessment, treatment and exercise prescription to provide optimum patient care. Dr Brendon Haslam

Brendon is a highly experienced Pain Physiotherapist and Research Fellow at both La Trobe University and the Florey Institute of Neuroscience
and Mental Health. He has a particular interest and extensive experience in the areas of chronic pain, neuropathic pain and neurology. He has previously worked in hospital-based pain clinics for more than 20 years, and has been involved in developing the educational curriculum for numerous pain clinics throughout Melbourne. He also works with clients who have acute and chronic vestibular conditions which can lead to difficulty with balance. A feature of his clinical approach is to identify the often multiple contributions towards a chronic condition and outline an active plan that addresses these. Brendon is a faculty member of the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (www.noigroup.com), where he is responsible for providing pain science education to other health professionals. In his role with the NOIgroup, he teaches the flagship EXPLAIN PAIN course, in addition to GRADED MOTOR IMAGERY, and a course that is tailored for clinicians addressing pain in neurological conditions (EXPLAIN PAIN: STROKE AND NEURO REHAB). He has taught physiotherapists at post-graduate level since 2002, is a specialist faculty member for the Singapore Post Graduate Allied Health Institute, and a regular presenter for the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Brendon’s research investigates chronic pain in neurological conditions such as stroke. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has been invited to present at numerous national and international conferences. He is currently involved in two nationally funded (NHMRC) studies investigating implementation of evidence-based therapies into clinical practice, and predictive modelling in determining optimal timing of therapies based on physical biomarkers and psychological readiness.

Michelle Duong

Michelle completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Australian Catholic University (North Sydney). Her holistic treatment style is a combination of hands-on therapy, Clinical Pilates, patient education

Adriane Khablyuk

Adriane graduated from Curtin University (Perth WA) in 2013. She has worked in the private practice setting since and developed experience in treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders

Jennifer Langford

Jen has worked in General, Pelvic and Pain physio since the last millennium. A co- founding Director at INP, Jen has post grads in Pelvis (Uni Melb) and Pain Management (University of Sydney School of Medicine). Jen is a regular clinical supervisor and lecturer to postgrad students at Uni Melb, and her passion and expertise

Dr Sallie Cowan

Sallie is internationally recognised as a leading clinician, researcher and educator in the diagnosis and management of anterior knee pain, early onset knee osteoarthritis and the prevention of knee injuries. Sallie also has a particular interest in spinal pain and has post graduate qualifications in Manipulative Physiotherapy. In addition she has many years experience working with sporting teams and athletes. Sallie is a regular lecturer and supervisor to post-graduate physiotherapy students At La Trobe University and The University of Melbourne. She has over 75 publications in international peer reviewed journals and has co-authored six book chapters on anterior knee pain and one on core stability including in the most popular sports medicine text of all time (Brukner and Khan Sports Medicine). Sallie has been invited to speak both Nationally and Internationally on the topic of knee pain, and has received numerous awards for her research.
